Bookmobile

The Bookmobile is our "library on wheels," bringing books and other materials to library patrons throughout New Albany and Floyd County.
The Bookmobile is currently off the road until funding can be restored. Updates to the status of the Bookmobile will be posted here.
- The Bookmobile collection includes materials for library patrons of all ages.
- Our traveling collection includes talking books, paperbacks, large print books, magazines, picture books, CDs, videos and more.
- If you are a Floyd County resident, you can apply for a free library card on the Bookmobile that can be used there or at the main Library. Paid or special cards must be applied for at the main Library.
- If you don't see what you're looking for on the Bookmobile, you can request books and other materials from the main Library. Our staff will bring them to you on your next Bookmobile visit. You can request books on the Bookmobile or by calling 944-8464 or 949-3738 at least two days in advance.
- You may return books to the Bookmobile or to the main Library.
- All Bookmobile stops are open to the public.
- The Bookmobile is stationed at each location approximately 1 to 3 hours. Because of the limited time between locations the Bookmobile shuts down the computer systems 5 minutes before leaving. For this reason you should arrive early to give yourself time for browsing and checkout.
